Three Wheeled Buggies
Three-wheeled buggies are great for walking around the neighborhood or jogging. Their compact design makes it easy to maneuver, even in tight places.
For a smooth ride, go for a pram fitted with air-filled tyres and look for models with a 360deg front swivel wheel. They are susceptible, however, to punctures. Be prepared with an emergency repair kit.
Frame made of sturdy material
The latest figures have been released that show that the three-wheeled buggy - a symbol of the noughties of more money than wisdom is in a decline. They have been replaced by four-wheelers that are able to handle a wider range of terrain, yet still look elegant and easy to push.
The larger the wheels are the better your buggy will cope with bumpy surfaces and uneven pavements. The larger wheels, both front and rear, make it easier to move and more stable when walking downhill or over difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tested the buggy with a newborn and a 3 year old and found it coped well with cobbles, grass, rough roads, dirt tracks and kerbs. She noted that it was solid to push, and very stable on difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable so need occasional pumping) have suspension built-in, which was very comfortable for my kids.
The size and shape of the seat is another aspect to consider. It should be large enough for your child's comfort and you will also need it to recline for them to lie flat. 3 wheeled pushchair -wheel buggies offer the option of lying flat, which allows your child to lie flat and face you, while other buggies only allow a parent-facing one.
An excellent option for taking on off-road or muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. Others are designed to run and have fixed wheels that lock to provide increased speed and stability. This also helps when you crash into the roots of a tree or stray curb, since the front wheel will lift up slightly to prevent you from hitting it.
A lot of 3 wheel pushchair s have air-filled tyres, which means they can handle many different terrains and are far more adaptable than 4-wheelers. They're also lighter. They are also more susceptible to punctures, so you'll need to have repair kits and an spare inner tube on hand.

The drawback of having larger wheels is that they can make buggies quite large and make it difficult to get through narrow spaces. This is problematic if you intend to use it as a jogger or have to squeeze through doorways that are narrow when traveling. Most models come with small folding options that let you remove the front wheels and store them more compactly.
Easy to manoeuvre
A three-wheel buggy can be more comfortable to drive with children. The way in which they are built means that the front wheels rotate at a whim and are incredibly easy to maneuver, making them ideal for tricky terrain such as parks, cobbles or bumpy pavements, as well as dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried a 3-wheeler with her toddler, and she wrote: "The Terrain is a delight to navigate on uneven terrain. The swivel wheel front was particularly helpful." I was also impressed by how well it coped with bumps, particularly when using the hand-operated brake. I found it to be extremely stable when going downhill or over uneven ground."
The only downside to this great maneuverability, is that the larger wheels of a 3 wheel buggy can sometimes make it difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is something to keep in mind when your home is an urban area. If this is a problem, a 4-wheel buggy might be a better choice for you.
